أَتَى رَمَضَانُ ...

أَتَى رَمَضَانُ بَرَّاقًا بَهِيًّا
يَقُولُ لَنَا: إِلَى الطَّاعَاتِ هَيَّا

فَصُومُوا ثُمَّ قُومُوا فِي خُشُوعٍ
فَطُوبَى لِلَّذِي لِلَّيْلِ أَحْيَا

وَطُوبَى لِلَّذِي أَمْضَاهُ ذِكْرًا
وَبَاتَ لِسَانُهُ رَطْبًا زَكِيًّا

وَمَدَّ يَمِينَهُ لِلْبِرِّ يُعْطِي
وَكَانَ عَطَاؤُهُ جَزْلًا نَدِيًّا

وَطُوبَى ثُمَّ طُوبَى ثُمَّ طُوبَى
لِمَنْ بِهُدَاهُ قَدْ أَضْحَى تَقِيًّا

وَيَا أَسَفًا عَلَى مَا ضَاعَ مِنْهُ
وَقَدْ خَابَ الَّذِي يَغْدُو شَقِيًّا

أَيَا رَحْمَنُ فَاجْعَلْنَا عِبَادًا
نَرُومُ رِضَاكَ مُلْتَجَئًا وَرَيًّا

نَصُومُ عَنِ الْحَرَامِ بِكُلِّ حِينٍ
وَيَبْقَى وِرْدُنَا وِرْدًا نَقِيًّا

نُزَاحِمُ أَوْلِيَاءَكَ فِي خُطَاهُمْ
لَقَدْ رَبِحَ الَّذِي أَضْحَى وَلِيًّا

وَنَلْتَمِسُ الْهُدَى فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ
لِيَغْدُو زَرْعُنَا رَطْبًا جَنِيًّا

Ramadan Has Come
Ramadan has dawned, radiant and grand,
Calling to us: "To obedience, make your stand!"
Fast with devotion, rise in humble prayer,
Blessed is he who revives the night with care.
Blessed is he who spends it in remembrance sweet,
His tongue ever moist, pure, and replete.
He extends his right hand with kindness to give,
His bounty flows generous, abundant, alive.
Blessed, then blessed, and blessed once more,
To those who, through guidance, grow pious to the core.
Oh, what sorrow for moments lost in vain,
Woe to the one who wakes to misery’s chain.
O Merciful One, make us Your servants true,
Seeking Your pleasure, our refuge in You.
Fasting from the forbidden in every hour we spend,
Our litany remains a chant pure to the end.
We tread the path where Your saints have trod,
Triumphant is he who becomes Your beloved.
We seek guidance in all that we pursue,
That our harvest may ripen, tender and new.
